The CAT Qualification

ACCA’s Accounting Technician qualification is a combination of study and practical experience, designed to build your knowledge in accountancy, IT and management.

With an emphasis on flexibility and opportunity, the qualification is accessible to anyone aged 16 years or older. There are no time constraints to complete your examinations, so you can study and qualify at a pace which suits you. Your previous examinations may also entitle you to exemptions from certain examinations. This will ensure your point of entry is the most suitable for your level of knowledge and skills and will prevent you repeating areas with which you are familiar.

On completion of the qualification, you will be able to call yourself a Certified Accounting Technician and use the designed CAT after your name.

You will also be eligible for automatic transfer to the ACCA Professional Scheme qualification, and entitled to exemption from Part 1 (Knowledge Module) of the examinations.
