The CAT Qualification

Overview

The Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Qualification will be re-introduced as a top up programme as a terminating technical certification to accredited Diploma in Accounting (DIA) programme or ACCA - FIA graduated member. The positioning will enable it as to be in line with ACCA global practice, as well as support direction of the currently being revised Competency Framework by Malaysia Institute of Accountant (MIA) to introduce "Accounting Technician" [AT(M)]' membership level in Malaysia.

CAT is a value-added option for students that intend to start working immediately after completing accredited Diploma in Accounting, with further opportunity to take-up the ACCA qualification in the future.

Upon completion of the CAT Foundations Practical Experience Requirement (FPER : 1year ) and Foundation in Professionalism (FiP), you will be able to call yourself a Certified Accounting Technician and use the designation CAT after your name.
